PMSI is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Foley, AL

Professional Management Services is hiring for an experienced Medical Office Assistant. As a team member, you will work on a number of tasks including patient demographic data entry, insurance verification and eligibility checks, end-of-day charge entry and front office clerical support as needed. Makes appointments in accordance with clinic procedure. .

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Medical Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate
  • One year of clerical experience preferably in a health care setting
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Effective oral and legible written communication skills
  • Proficient data entry skills

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).

  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations and use a calculator
  • Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
  • Perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • May document the provider's encounter with patients.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.

Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications
